Depression

Many people suffer from depression which has not responded to previous treatment options such as antidepressants or psychotherapy.

Symptoms of depression include loss of interest in daily activities, sadness, sleep problems, weight loss, trouble with focus and concentration, and suicidal thoughts.

For people suffering from treatment resistant depression, options do exist. We can offer transcranial magnetic stimulation to stimulate a part of the brain called the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex which is an area of the brain that becomes turned off in depression. In addition to TMS, there is a new medication called Esketamine or Spravato which works as a rapid acting glutamatergic antidepessant.
